Make your own profile – Special manufacture of profile inserts for the Logosol TB system.
We can offer to make special profile or grooved inserts using our own high quality blank knives. We draw the profile in a CAD program, that is then transferred to the production machine that makes the insert. We need a sketch, drawing or wood sample to do this.
Note: Remember to specify the reference dimensions on supplied drawings.
Knife Width (B)
Select the width of the knife to match your desired profile, and no greater than 10 mm the size of your citter head.
For example, a TB90 cutter head of 40 mm can fit 40 mm and 50 mm knives.
Knife Thickness (C)
4 mm – Is the most common thickness, which works for most machining.
5.5 mm – Should be chosen if you have tough machining jobs or large profiles.
Check your cutter heads fit the selected knife thickness.
Maximum Profile Depth (A)
Swedish Standard SS-EN874-1 specifies the profile depth (A) must not exceed the following:
Knife Thickness (C) | HSS Knife | MH Knife |
(C) 4 mm | (A) max. = 21 mm | (A) max. = 11 mm |
(C) 5.5mm | (A) max. = 25 mm | (A) max. = 21 mm |
Knife Material
You can choose from different grades of steel, depending on the amount of work you intend to do with your blade.
HSS (high speed steel) – Works well in softwood such as spruce and pine; should be chosen if you are going to machine hardwoods like oak or beech.
HM (hard metal / tungsten carbide) – Should be chosen if you are going to machine materials like teak and MDF.
